Ramachandi Temple

Riverside shrine and picnic stop near the mouth of the Kushabhadra River

Ramachandi Temple sits in a quiet grove near the Kushabhadra River, a few kilometres from Konark and close to the road toward Puri. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Ramachandi, a local form of Durga, and is tied into the same sacred landscape as the Sun Temple and the coast.

Travellers usually come for the setting as much as the shrine itself. The river mouth, casuarina trees, and nearby beach make it a gentle detour from Konark's monumental stonework. It is best combined with Chandrabhaga Beach or the marine drive to Puri rather than treated as a destination for a whole day.
