Neermahal rises from Rudrasagar Lake near Melaghar, about 50 km from Agartala. Its white arcades and domes mix Hindu and Islamic design elements, and the boat approach is half the pleasure of the visit.
The palace is at its best in soft light, when it reflects in the lake and the scale of the setting becomes clear. Combine it with Sepahijala or Udaipur if you have a car for the day.
