Chitai Golu Devta Temple is one of the most memorable short trips from Almora. Devotees come to ask Golu Devta, a Kumaoni deity associated with justice, to hear their cases; the temple is covered with bells and written petitions left in gratitude or hope.
It is about 10 km from town on the road east. The shrine is busy but not hard to visit, and it gives a vivid look at living Kumaoni belief rather than a polished monument.
