Vishram Ghat

Vishram Ghat is Mathura's most important riverfront, a stepped landing on the Yamuna where pilgrims bathe, light lamps, and gather for evening aarti. The name is linked to Krishna's rest after defeating Kansa, which gives the ghat a special place in the city's sacred story.

Come near sunset if you can. Boatmen will offer rides on the river, but the stronger experience is often from the steps, watching the lamps, bells, flowers, and reflected light pull the river into the ritual.
