Sagardighi is a broad tank in the middle of town, surrounded by government buildings, trees, and steady local life. It is not dramatic, but it gives Cooch Behar its centre of gravity.
Come early or near sunset, when the heat has dropped and people walk the edges of the water. In winter, migratory birds sometimes settle on the tank.
