Mandarmani is about 180 km from Kolkata on the Bay of Bengal coast in East Midnapore district.
By train: Take a train from Howrah or Santragachi to Contai (Kanthi) or Digha, then an auto-rickshaw or shared jeep to Mandarmani. Alternatively, the Kandari Express or other trains stop at Ramnagar, from which Mandarmani is around 12 km by road.
By road: Drive southeast from Kolkata on the Diamond Harbour Road or via Kolaghat, then follow the coast road toward Digha. The approach to Mandarmani involves driving on the beach itself at low tide — the hard sand acts as a road and is the attraction the beach is known for. A private car from Kolkata takes around 4–5 hours.
