Roshnaiganj contains the tomb of Nawab Shuja-ud-Din Muhammad Khan, who succeeded Murshid Quli Khan in Bengal. The site is also associated with Shuja-ud-Din's mosque, probably built after his death by Alivardi Khan.
It is a smaller stop than Murshidabad's palace sites, but useful for travellers following the nawabs' history around the old capital.
