Medewi Beach

Long black-sand beach backed by fishing village life and west Bali's quieter surf scene.

Medewi Beach is less a postcard beach than a working west Bali shoreline: black sand, stones near the point, fishing boats, and long views over the Indian Ocean. It is good for walking, watching the surf, and feeling the pace drop.

Swimming conditions vary, and the shore is not as soft or protected as Bali's resort beaches. That is part of the bargain. Come for space, sunsets, and local life rather than beach-club polish.
