Sharbat Khaneh occupies a restored Qajar-era house in the old quarter and is one of the best places in Tabriz to try the city's distinct Azeri cuisine. The menu leans heavily on local specialities: koofteh Tabrizi (the city's signature giant stuffed meatball), bonab kebab, dizi sangaki, and several rice dishes you won't find south of the Aras River.
The setting is half the point — high painted ceilings, stained glass, traditional seating arranged around a small interior courtyard. Service is unhurried and the portions are generous. Reservations recommended on weekend evenings.
