From Tehran, the most practical options are flying or taking the bus. Flights take about 90 minutes and cost around $35. The bus takes 8–9 hours but is considerably cheaper.
Tabriz is also accessible from Turkey — buses run across the border for travellers arriving from that direction. The city's Shahid Madani International Airport handles both domestic and some international routes.
