Osagoe Minkaen is an open-air folk museum with thatched-roof houses moved here from around the region. It is a modest place, but useful if you want to understand what rural Fukui looked like before concrete, cars, and postwar rebuilding changed the landscape.
The houses are the point. Go for the architecture and domestic details rather than for a big museum experience.
