The Noto Peninsula is most easily reached by car from Kanazawa, the gateway city of Ishikawa Prefecture. The drive from Kanazawa to Wajima takes about two hours on the Noto Expressway. There is no convenient rail connection — the Noto Railway runs along part of the eastern coast but terminates at Anamizu, well short of the northern tip.
Kanazawa is served by flights from Tokyo Haneda and Osaka Itami, and is on the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo (about 2 hours 30 minutes). Renting a car in Kanazawa before heading onto the peninsula is strongly recommended — public transport on the peninsula is sparse and has been further reduced since the 2024 earthquake.
