The Asa Mōri Samurai Residence is an 1856 longhouse connected to the Asa Mōri family, descendants of the powerful Mōri clan. It is one of Hagi's smaller samurai-era sites, but it adds useful context to the better-known castle town and former residences nearby.
The surviving longhouse is arranged as a series of exhibits, letting visitors move through the building while learning about samurai life in Hagi.
