Narutaki Gorge is a short nature escape north of central Ibara, with a walking course that passes a series of small waterfalls. It is not a grand ravine, but it adds a good outdoor counterpoint to Bisei's museums and observatory.
Go after rain or in the green months if you can. In dry weather the falls are modest, though the walk still gives you a quieter side of rural Okayama.
