Old Okudani Lodging is a small European-style house built in 1924 for foreign teachers at Matsue Senior High School. It is now part of the Shimane University Museum and is most interesting as a glimpse of early 20th-century academic life in the city. It is close enough to Matsue Castle to fold into a wider walk around the old town.
