Kunimori Residence is one of the best individual buildings in the old district. Built in the late 18th century, it shows how a successful merchant family lived and worked in Yanai's trading years.
The pleasure is in the scale and detail: white walls, heavy timber, shop-house proportions, and rooms that make the wider street scene easier to read.
