Sapporo's Susukino district is the largest entertainment quarter north of Tokyo, stretching across several blocks south of Odori Park. You will find everything from sleek cocktail bars to tiny standing-only sake joints to rowdy izakayas. The area around Minami 4-jo is the densest concentration, but good bars are scattered throughout. Sapporo is also a fine beer city, home to the original Sapporo brewery, and local craft beer bars have been multiplying in recent years.
