Kawagoe's best sights cluster north of Hon-Kawagoe station, so the city works well on foot. Start with the Kurazukuri streets and Toki no Kane, then curve east to Kawagoe Castle and south to Kita-in. Hikawa Shrine is a short extra walk north-east, worth adding if you want a quieter stop away from the warehouse district.
