Akagi Nanmen Senbonzakura is a seasonal sight, but in bloom it is one of Maebashi's strongest draws. The road is lined with cherry trees on the southern slope of Mount Akagi, often with yellow rapeseed flowers and mountain air adding to the colour.
Come for the blossom period rather than expecting the same impact year-round. Outside spring it is a pleasant rural stop, but not a reason by itself to travel.
