Izuruhara Benten Pond is a small but memorable spring-fed pond north-west of Sano. The water is clear enough to see into the blue-green depths, and it stays cool through the year after filtering through limestone.
Beside it, Isoyama Benzaiten Shrine adds the cultural reason to linger. The shrine is old, compact, and closely tied to the spring rather than feeling like a separate attraction.
