The Merchant Museum is a small stop in Nichinan's Obi district, set in one of the oldest surviving buildings in the historic quarter. The collection is modest, but it gives useful context to the merchant families who helped shape the town around the old castle streets.
Visit it as part of a slow walk through Obi rather than as a standalone museum trip. The building itself is at least half the appeal.
