Obi is Nichinan's old castle town, and it feels very different from the coast. Stone walls, gates, canals, and samurai residences survive around the former castle grounds, giving the district an easy walking route from Obi Station.
The castle itself is mostly ruins and reconstructed gates, so the pleasure is the whole townscape rather than one single monument. Give it time to wander the lanes and small museums.
