Kanpire Falls

Kanpire is the second of the Urauchi waterfalls, about 20 minutes further upstream from Mariudo on the same trail. It is a long, low cascade running over broad slabs of dark rock rather than a single drop — more a series of natural steps than a curtain.

The shallow pools above the falls are usually safe for a careful dip, and there are spots on the rocks to sit and dry off. This is as far as the maintained trail goes; beyond Kanpire the river continues into restricted national park territory only accessible with a guide.
