Mariudo Falls

Mariudo is the more dramatic of the two famous waterfalls on the Urauchi River — a two-tiered cascade about 16 metres high that drops into a wide circular pool the colour of weak tea. A wooden viewing platform is set into the jungle slope opposite the falls.

You cannot swim at the base — the official path stops at the platform — but a short scramble down the unmarked side path takes you closer to the water. The whole trip from the river landing is around 40 minutes one way.
