Gunkan-iwa, or Battleship Rock, is a distinctive reef rock formation off Yonaguni. Its name comes from the way the main rock is said to resemble a warship when seen from the coast.
The formation is usually viewed from Sanninudai and works best as part of a wider circuit of Yonaguni's cliffs, coastal viewpoints, and unusual rock scenery.
