Ono Chikkyo Art Museum is dedicated to the Kasaoka-born nihonga painter Ono Chikkyo. His work often returns to quiet scenes of nature, the kind of ordinary fields, hills, and seasonal light that can look anonymous until someone teaches you to look more carefully.
It is a modest museum, but a good fit for Kasaoka. Visit it before or after the islands and the local landscape starts to feel less like background.
