Uchiko is on the JR Yosan Line between Matsuyama, Ozu, Yawatahama, and Uwajima. Limited express trains from Matsuyama take about 25 minutes, which makes the town an easy day trip from the prefectural capital.
From Uchiko Station, it is about 10 minutes on foot to Uchiko-za Theatre and 20 minutes to the Yokaichi and Gokoku historic district. The walk is simple, but bicycles and local taxis are useful if you want to continue beyond the old town.
