Jerash is 48 kilometres north of Amman, reached in 45–60 minutes by road. From Amman's Tabarbour bus station (also called North Bus Station), minibuses and service taxis run regularly to Jerash throughout the day. The journey costs very little and the service is reliable. From Amman city centre, the easiest option is a taxi, which will cost around 25–35 JD return with waiting time, or a day-tour package offered by most hotels.
Jerash is a common day trip from Amman and the Ajloun Castle (25 km northwest) is often combined with it into a single day. Driving from Amman is straightforward; the site has a large car park at the main entrance south of the Arch of Hadrian.
