A small family-run place on the upper Wadi Musa road, run as the name suggests on the mother's recipes. The chicken maqluba — meat and vegetables steamed with spiced rice, then flipped onto the plate so the contents land upside-down — is the dish to order.
Service is unhurried and the dining room is plain. Prices are mid-range. The owners are good about explaining what each dish is, which makes it a useful first night if Jordanian food is new to you.
