Baidibek Bi Monument

A bronze equestrian monument to Baidibek Bi (1356–1419), one of the legendary unifying chieftains of the Kazakhs and a figure of particular importance in the south. The statue stands on a low rise near the citadel and the regional museum, framed by a small plaza.

The site is worth ten minutes for the view and for the way it slots into the official narrative on display at Ordabasy Square — read together, the two monuments give a clear sense of which figures the modern state has chosen as its national ancestors.
