Skazka Canyon, often translated as Fairy Tale Canyon, is a short but memorable stop west of Tamga. Wind and water have cut the soft sediment into red, orange, and yellow ridges that look almost stage-built when the late sun hits them.
You do not need a serious hike to enjoy it. A slow wander through the gullies gives views back toward Lake Issyk-Kul and the mountains beyond, though the clay paths can be slippery after rain and brutally exposed in midday heat.
