The Co-Cathedral of Saint Therese is a prominent French colonial structure in Savannakhet's riverside quarter, built during the French Indochina period. Its white facade and twin-towered form is visible across several blocks and marks the heart of the old colonial grid. The Catholic community in Savannakhet dates to the late 19th century; the church continues as an active parish serving Vietnamese and Lao Catholic families.
The interior is simple but the building is well maintained. The surrounding streets — shaded arcades, a few remaining shophouses with balconied upper floors — give the best sense of the colonial-era streetscape. Coming in the early morning or late afternoon avoids the midday heat and catches better light on the facade.
