Renggis Island is a tiny rock islet just offshore from the Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort, a short swim or kayak from Tekek's southern beach. The surrounding reef is one of the most accessible and productive snorkelling spots on the island's west coast, with healthy coral gardens, reef fish in abundance, and frequent sightings of blacktip reef sharks and green sea turtles. The clarity of the water here on a calm day is exceptional.
Several dive operators in Tekek offer dive trips to Renggis as an introductory site, though more experienced divers generally head for the deeper sites on the island's exposed southern and eastern sides. For snorkellers and beginner divers, however, Renggis is outstanding — close enough to walk to and rich enough to occupy several hours. Mornings are best, before the afternoon wind picks up.
