Sin Htauk Beach is the Dawei Peninsula at its more adventurous: a long, pale strand backed by green hills, well south of town and far from the easy seafood shacks of Maungmagan. It is the kind of beach people remember because getting there takes effort.
That effort matters. Roads and seasonal access can be difficult, especially in the rains, so ask locally before setting off. In dry weather, the reward is a quiet coast that feels far removed from Myanmar's better-known routes.
