Rawalakot's main bazaar runs along the central spine of town, a single long street of small shops selling everything from fabric and shoes to dried fruit and SIM cards. It is the social centre of the valley — at any time of day men gather over tea outside the dhabas, and on bazaar days farmers come down from the surrounding villages to sell produce.
There are no luxuries on offer but it is the place to pick up provisions for trips up the mountain, replace a shalwar kameez, or find an internet café. Try the local honey, which comes from forest hives in the surrounding ridges.
