The Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center is one of the most active arts organisations in the Palestinian territories, hosting exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, and performances throughout the year. It is based in a renovated Ottoman-era mansion in the centre of Ramallah, named after the Palestinian intellectual and educator Khalil Sakakini.
The centre shows work by Palestinian and international artists, with a particular focus on contemporary visual art and film. It also maintains a research library and archive on Palestinian cultural history. The programme changes frequently; check their website before visiting to see what is currently on. The building and its leafy courtyard are pleasant in their own right, a quiet contrast to the busy streets outside.
