Lucap Seafood Market

The cluster of seafood stalls and small restaurants along the road leading to Lucap Wharf is the best place to eat in the Alaminos area. Vendors sell fish, shrimp, squid and crabs caught that morning in the Lingayen Gulf, and most of the adjacent restaurants will cook your purchase for a small preparation fee — a system locals call "paluto." Grilled bangus (milkfish), kinilaw (a local raw fish preparation similar to ceviche, with vinegar and chilli) and whole grilled tilapia are the standards.

The market is most lively in the early morning, when the fishing boats come in, and again in the late afternoon when day-trippers return hungry from the islands. Prices are low by any standard. A full meal of grilled fish, rice and a cold San Miguel costs a few hundred pesos. Arrive before noon to get the widest choice of fresh catch.
