The Ogod River firefly cruise is Donsol's best after-dark experience. Small boats move quietly along the river while fireflies blink through the mangroves and riverside trees, turning the banks into something much stranger than the daylight town suggests.
Go on a dark night if you can; moonlight and rain both blunt the effect. It is gentle, slow and low-tech, which is most of the charm.
