Riverbanks Center

Riverbanks Center is a commercial and recreational complex on the western bank of the Marikina River, directly adjacent to the river park. It combines a shopping mall, food court, market stalls, and a small amusement area in a setting that takes advantage of the riverfront. The complex is more interesting than a typical Philippine mall because of its position — the river terrace has outdoor seating with decent views, and the whole development is well-integrated with the adjacent park.

For visitors, Riverbanks is most useful as a base for the afternoon — a place to eat, rest, and watch the river before or after exploring the Shoe Museum and the historic district. The food options are better and more varied than you might expect, with a good range of Filipino dishes alongside the standard mall fare. On weekends it is lively and busy; on weekdays it is quieter and easier to navigate.
