Cagayan de Oro has a lively after-dark scene driven partly by its large student population and partly by the city's status as a commercial hub for northern Mindanao. The Rosario Strip near Limketkai Center is the main nightlife strip, while the Divisoria night market fills up with a more local crowd on weekends. Gay bars are a visible and accepted part of the city's social life.
