Getting around Davao is straightforward and cheap. Jeepneys cover most of the city on fixed routes — flag one down, hop on, pass your fare up to the driver. Taxis are metered, plentiful, and reliable; for short hops the fare is rarely more than a few hundred pesos. Tricycles and motorcycle "habal-habal" handle the last mile in residential neighbourhoods and on the outskirts. For trips to Samal Island or the suburbs along the coast, hire a van or rent a car at the airport.
