Santuario del Santo Cristo

The Santuario del Santo Cristo, also known as the Church of San Juan del Monte, is one of the oldest churches in Metro Manila, with a history dating to the Spanish colonial period. The church sits on a hill in the southern part of San Juan and gives the city its original name — San Juan del Monte — a reminder that the area was once more elevated and rural than the flat, dense city it has become.

The convento (clergy house) attached to the church is among the best-preserved examples of colonial ecclesiastical architecture in the capital. The church is an active Augustinian parish and is visited by Filipinos seeking the venerated image of the Santo Cristo (Holy Christ) housed inside.
