Junam Reservoir gives Changwon a nature anchor that is not seasonal in the same way as the cherry blossoms. The wetland system draws migratory and resident birds, with observation points and educational facilities around the reservoir.
Winter is the strongest time for birdlife, but even outside peak season the flat water, reeds, and open sky make a good change from the built-up city. Bring binoculars if birds are the point of the trip.
