Haeunsa Temple sits on the slopes of Geumosan, close enough to the cable-car and waterfall route to fold naturally into a mountain visit. Its earlier form, Daehyeolsa, is traditionally linked to the late Silla period, though the present temple has been rebuilt after later destruction.
It is not a grand temple complex, but it gives Geumosan a cultural pause between the lower tourist area and the harder climb above. The best visit is as part of the walk to Daehye Falls and Doseongul Cave.
