Songjeong-dong, around GwangjuSongjeong station, is one of the city's better food-focused neighbourhoods. Its best-known stretch is Tteok-galbi Street, where restaurants serve Gwangju's local version of grilled minced beef patties.
The area also has a visible mix of Chinese, Southeast Asian, and local Korean businesses. It pairs naturally with nearby 1913 Songjeong Station Market, making the district a useful stop before or after a KTX journey.
