Wonhyosa Temple

Wonhyosa Temple sits in Wonhyo Valley on the northern edge of Mudeungsan National Park. It is traditionally linked to the Silla-era Buddhist monk Wonhyo, and makes a good cultural stop before or after a walk in the mountain forest.

The setting is the main appeal: stone paths, wooded slopes, and temple buildings close enough to Gwangju for an easy half-day outing.
