Mungyeong Coal Museum

Former mining-area museum with tunnel replicas and displays on Korea's coal industry.

Mungyeong Coal Museum tells the story of the mines that helped shape the city in the twentieth century. The displays include equipment, reconstructed mine spaces, and material on the daily life of miners.

It works best as context. Mungyeong is now marketed for parks and festivals, but the coal museum explains why some of these valleys developed the way they did.
