Gwanchoksa is Nonsan's strongest sight. Its 18-metre Eunjin Mireuk Buddha was begun in the 10th century and has a blunt, almost otherworldly presence, with an oversized head, long ears, and a stone crown. Come for the statue, then linger in the small temple grounds beneath Banyasan Mountain.
