Daelim Changgo — "Daelim Warehouse" — is the building most often credited with kicking off Seongsu's transformation. A vast former rice and grain warehouse, it was reborn as a hybrid gallery-cafe that kept the soaring ceilings, brick walls, and freight-scale doors, and filled the cavernous interior with rotating contemporary art, installations, and a long coffee counter.
It is less about the coffee than the space and the art — exhibitions and brand pop-ups change regularly, and the sheer volume of the room makes it a destination in its own right. Together with Cafe Onion a few minutes away, it bookends the district's "warehouse cafe" trail through the back streets off Seongsui-ro.
