The clientele mixes Korean locals, American servicemembers, and the occasional visitor.
The area is generally lively in the evenings, particularly on weekends. Korean-style beer and soju are available everywhere; the American-oriented establishments stock imports. The atmosphere is more relaxed than Itaewon in Seoul and less polished — it is a working bar district rather than a nightlife destination.
